by Judith Fitzsimmons & Paula M. Bousquet  (Forward by Jeanne Rose)

QUESTION:  What happens when two friends get together to learn and write about aromatherapy?

ANSWER:  A delightful and informative book -- Seasons of Aromatherapy.

Friends and authors Judy Fitzsimmons and Paul Bousquet have succeed in bringing aromatherapy to life.  Written in practical, informative, and fun chapters this book is easy to read and learn from.  In addition to the history of the oils and traditional uses, they have provided very easy and practical recipes.

The recipes use the basic oils covered in the book. For the beginner (or home aromatherapist) is this great!  I have always been frustrated by aromatherapy books that give recipes and then you need 100 different oils to make them!  I don't want shelves of oils I only need for one or two recipes. And, I don't always know what will work as a substitution.  This is not the case here. Seasons is written with practicality in mind. The authors really want you to experience and enjoy true aromatherapy!  Their love of aromatherapy comes through the words.

Another great feature is that each chapter is a month of the year and focuses on oils that would offer uses appropriate for the month.  For example, September's oil is Rosemary.  Noted for its mind stimulating properties, this is a great back to school choice!  The recipes include Eye Opener, Grouch Prevention, Thought Provoking, Driving Alert, and Muscle Rub.  Personal tips and comments make Paula and Judy seem like my friends too!

A bonus section Especially for You is included with each month and covers the more exotic oils. I found this very interesting as well.

Special mention must also be made to Martha Newton Furman. Her cover design and illustrations make this book gorgeous! It is hardcover and beautifully enough to place on a coffee table. It makes you feel good just looking at it!

If you are looking for your first or fiftieth aromatherapy book,  Season is the one for you!
